Floor Barre

Floor Barre method was founded by Boris Kniaseff to train his dancers when he found himself in a classified building that could not have the barres fixed on the walls. He counted among his students Roland Petit, Zizi Jeanmaire and Jaqueline Fynnaert.
Floor Barre helps find correct postures, strengthen core, and improve flexibility while lying down using the support of the floor (instead of being upright and using the barre).
Most dance studios in Paris now offer Floor Barre. Professional dancers take floor barre class to maintain strength and improve turn out and alignment; non dancers take it as a low impact fitness class that also helps develop long lines.
