Augusto Silva

Augusto started his dance training at seven years of age in São Paulo , Brazil. During his eight years as a student at Conservatorio Carlos Gomes and Especial Academia de Ballet, Augusto had the opportunity to perform notable works like Basilio in Don Quixote and James in La Sylphide, where he placed first in the largest ballet competition in South America Festival de Dança de Joinville.
In 2010 he was selected to represent his Country at the USA
International Ballet Competition, where he won a contract
to Nashville Ballet. Augusto worked as a Soloist with the Nashville Ballet, under Artistic Director, Paul Vasterling from 2011 - 2018, performing key roles like the Jester in Cinderella, Blue Bird in Sleeping Beauty, the clever Bonvolio, in Romeo & Juliet and the title role in Vasterling's world premiere of Peter Pan. In his seven years with the company he got to work with renowned choreographers and directors such as Dominic Walsh, Gina Peterson, Christopher Stuart, Brian Enos, Heather Malloy, James Sewell, Christopher Wheeldon, Graham Lustig.
Since Moving to California in 2020 Augusto has worked as a Principal dancer with San Jose Dance Theater with Artistic directors Michael Pappalardo, Mark Foehringer, Linda Hurkmans, Ballet 22 and Opera San Jose. In 2022 Silva was promoted to Associate Artistic Director where he created brand new work for the company including his first full length ballet, Dracula. Lastly Augusto has Guested with Oakland Ballet, Los Gatos Ballet, and SJDT.
